Only 9 days until I'm on my way to Halifax! I had my going away party and it was so much fun!! I had a blast with all my family & friends - thanks everyone for coming!!
And thanks to all my family for the cards & gifts! I really appreciate everything! My grandma got me a beautiful necklace (i probably shouldn't wear it in most countries so it'll be staying on the ship). My aunt Debbie gave a cute little panda beanie baby to bring around the world. :P & I got a nice journal & photo album from my cousin that I'll fill with memories. My neighbors also got my a journal so I'll be writing a lot! But I'm sure I can full them! haha
TRIPS
I heard back about my SAS trips. I got both i signed up for!! I'll be doing a township homestay in South Africa & a Dalit overnight trip in India. We'll be seeing how the caste system is still a big part in India even though it is illegal and spending a night in one of the villages of the "untouchables". I'm so excited for these tours!
I've also done some planning of my own. One thing I put together is an overnight camel trek in Morocco with a group of SASers! Also I put together a wine tasting trip in South Africa which should be a lot of fun! & I'm figuring out what to do in Spain right now. I'm going to Granada but the group of us is putting the final details together before we book. :)
Oh man! I went to walgreens and stocked up on toiletries/meds/school supplies and such because it was the tax free weekend and let me tell you that was a project!
